Nestled at an altitude of 11,800 feet, Yumthang Valley in North Sikkim is a mesmerizing alpine sanctuary also known as the Valley of Flowers. During spring (April to June), the valley is painted in hues of red, pink, and purple with blooming rhododendrons. The serene Teesta River flows through the valley, and snow-capped peaks provide a dramatic backdrop.
Recently opened to the public for the first time in 2024, Sanglaphu Lake (also known as Sanglaphu Cho) is located near Yumesamdong (Zero Point) at an altitude of 5,080 meters (16,670 feet). Sacred to local communities and often called the "Great Lake," it is surrounded by untouched wilderness and snow-clad mountains. The lake offers a serene, spiritual experience, away from the usual tourist spots.

Best time to visit: May to June, September to November.
Important: Special permits and local guides are recommended due to the remoteness and altitude.
